Zimbabwe Institute For Free Expression (ZIFFE) Funding :

Our work is partly dependent on funding grants from charitable donations by different organisations and donations from the public. Without this generous help and support from those who feel for us our ability to fight oppresion and teach about human rights issues would be very difficult to pursue.Without your support, the work of ZIFFE would stop.In particular, we are always in need of funding for various projects and activities. We use various means to accomplish our fundraising mission.Asking is one of the means.Building relationships with a large group of partners who can help to make our vision come true.

RESEARCH : ZIFFE is constantly looking for funds to research on free expression and opinion in Zimbabwe. There's need to professionallly and officially understand how oppressive laws in are hindering socio-political development in Zimbabwe. For example ,the ZANUPF Government passed draconian laws such as POSA and AIPPA to silence critics.POSA (Public Security Order Act ) became law on 22 January 2002.POSA is being used to ban any form of protest. It imposes severe restrictions on civil liberties and criminalizes activities associated with the freedoms of expression, assembly ,association and action. There's also great need to get data on how much Zimbabweans know about freedom of expression inorder to come up with viable options to assist.

TRAINING :Talking about human rights to certain sections of Zimbabweans is like talking about some alien issues.ZIFFE runs training courses for human rights and free expression issues. The sessions provide participants with information covering legislation for Freedom of Expression implementaion tactics. Some sessions examine some of the key decisions made under the oppressive laws and explain how they can be done away with.Such kind of training sessions also see ZIFFE training trainers on free expression issues and human rights.Such educational programmes require training material, venues and other related expenses. The rural folk is mainly affected by illiteracy so our training programmes will focus more on educating them.
